When they resume traveling, Buttercup and Westley make it through several dangerous areas, but are eventually captured by the Prince and his henchman, Count Rugen (Christopher Guest) – who is the man who killed Inigo’s father. Westley later tells her that the identity of Roberts has simply been passed down through the years: he is the current name holder. On the way down, Roberts says, “As you wish”, and Buttercup realizes that Roberts is actually Westley. However, when she learns of his identity, she remembers Westley’s death, and furiously pushes Roberts down a hill. The masked man, who is revealed to be the Dread Pirate Roberts, then takes Buttercup. He attacks the three men separately, defeating each at his strength: he out-fences Inigo, out-muscles Fezzik, and outwits Vizzini. When they reach the cliffs where the plan to kill Buttercup, the three men are attacked by the masked follower. However, all is not what it seems: the three kidnappers were actually hired by the Prince, and were supposed to leave Buttercup’s dead body in a rival country (making that country look responsible for her death). Prince Humperdinck and his soldiers immediately set off in pursuit of the men, but there is also someone else after them – a man who is disguised and wears all black. However, just before the wedding, Buttercup is kidnapped by three men: Vizzini (Wallace Shawn), the boss Fezzik (Andre the Giant), a kind giant who does Vizzini’s bidding and Inigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin), a Spaniard who has devoted his life to killing the man who murdered his father. When Westley has still not returned after five years, Buttercup agrees to marry Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon), though she is not fond of him. While at sea, Westley’s ship is attacked by the Dread Pirate Roberts, who is known to never leave anyone alive. They decide that Westley needs more money before they can get married, so he leaves Buttercup. Every time she does so, Westley answers with, “As you wish” Buttercup eventually realizes that he is saying that he loves her, and realizes that she loves him too. In the country of Florin, Buttercup (Robin Wright) lives on a farm, where her favorite pastime is ordering around the farm boy, Westley (Cary Elwes). This book becomes the main story of the movie. SUMMARY: When a young boy (Fred Savage) is too sick to go to school one day, his grandfather (Peter Falk) comes over to read a book to him.
